Growing Daisies
In our Pre-K 3 program in NJ, we prioritize fostering social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematical skills. This structured approach prepares children for the transition to kindergarten and subsequent stages of their development.
Social-Emotional
We focus on children regulating their emotions and behaviors, helping them manage their feelings, follow limits and expectations, and take care of their own needs. Children also develop skills in forming positive relationships, building secure attachments with teachers, and engaging in friendly interactions with peers. Additionally, they cultivate a positive self-concept, demonstrating confidence in their abilities and expressing their preferences. In group settings, children learn to cooperate, share, and resolve social conflicts with adult guidance.
Physical
Our curriculum focuses on gross-motor development, encouraging toddlers to demonstrate balance, coordination, and traveling skills during physical activities. They also refine their fine-motor skills, gaining strength and control through hand and finger movements, such as grasping, manipulation, and using writing and drawing tools.
Language
We nurture receptive language, helping toddlers understand increasingly complex language and follow multi-step directions. They also develop expressive language, learning to use a wider vocabulary, speak in clear sentences, and engage in conversations with others. Additionally, children practice using language for social interactions, learning conversational rules like taking turns and asking questions.
Cognitive
Toddlers are encouraged to develop positive approaches to learning, showing curiosity, persistence, and problem-solving skills in their play and activities. They also build cognitive connections, learning to classify objects, recognize patterns, and use symbolic thinking to represent their ideas.
Literacy
We introduce toddlers to the joys of literacy, fostering an appreciation for books and reading. Children explore book concepts, learn to identify letters and their sounds, and develop phonological awareness through rhymes, songs, and word play.
Mathematics
Our program introduces fundamental math concepts, including number names and counting, comparing quantities, and understanding spatial relationships. Toddlers explore shapes, attributes, and simple patterns, laying the groundwork for future mathematical learning.
